When I looked at the woman in the red duster, I thought of an unmade bed. The visual of the unmade bed vs the clean and crisp room says a lot.
When you walk into a cluttered room, how does it make you feel? How about when you have just washed the sheets and your bed is made up with the pillows stacked attractively?
How you put yourself together is a good comparison to the way you leave your bedroom. I’m not saying that if you have a messy bedroom that you dress haphazardly. I am saying the way your bedroom looks to you and to others is similar to the way we present ourselves to the world.
If no one is going to see your bedroom, are you likely to say, “who cares, no one will see it” or will you say, “I care, it makes me feel good.”? Do you think the same thing when you are dressing for the day?
The clean room and the put together look may take a few minutes longer, I think it’s worth it, do you?
P.S. Just to let you know, I do not always make my bed, but I almost always put myself together. Interesting.
